This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• This position is located in the Philadelphia and South Central New Jersey areas, requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Identify, qualify, and secure new independent retail accounts (including ethnic grocery, specialty, and international markets) as well as foodservice accounts (such as restaurants, catering, and quick-service restaurants) within the designated territory.
• Create and implement territory business plans that specify revenue targets, acquisition objectives, and strategies tailored to specific market segments.
• Manage the entire sales process, from prospecting through negotiation, contract signing, and ongoing account management.
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual goals for volume, revenue, and margin.
• Act as the company’s subject matter expert in ethnically diverse food channels, possessing extensive knowledge of consumer preferences among Hispanic/Latino, Asian-American, African/Caribbean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian communities.
• Craft culturally relevant sales presentations and account-specific programs; monitor trends in multicultural protein consumption such as halal, kosher, specialty cuts, and heritage breeds.
• Represent the brand at ethnic food trade shows, community events, and industry conferences to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
• Understand the unique purchasing structures, payment preferences, and relational dynamics of independent retail and foodservice operators.
• Establish trust-based relationships with store owners, executive chefs, purchasing managers, and distributor partners while providing hands-on support.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B food/protein sales.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, or another relevant language).
• Experience in independent retail or foodservice channels is essential.
• Familiarity with halal or kosher certified products is required.
• In-depth knowledge of multicultural food markets is necessary.
• Established relationships with brokers and distributors in multicultural channels.
• Experience working with meat, seafood, poultry, or specialty protein products.
• Background in ethnic grocery retail (e.g., H Mart, Northgate, etc.) is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation abilities and consultative selling skills are essential.
• Experience in the independent restaurant sector or ethnic quick-service restaurants is preferred.
• Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) is required.
• Experience with trade shows and event-based business development is beneficial.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 50–60% within the territory.
• Knowledge of food safety, cold chain management, and USDA/FDA regulations is important.
