Director, Customer Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical liaison for the designated account, taking full ownership of the relationship.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of the customer's organizational structure, recognizing both their technical objectives and the internal dynamics of key decision-makers.

• Create and deliver the product definition linked to the lease for new opportunities.

• Serve as the main point of contact for post-lease Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), collaborating with the customer and internal Fleet engineering teams to meet new requirements.

• Assess and prioritize customer needs by thoroughly reviewing requests to distinguish between essential "must-haves" and "nice-to-haves."

• Achieve proficiency in the capacity requirements of the assigned account, working closely with the customer and internal engineering to craft customized solutions.

• Collaborate with Tract and TCM Behind-the-Meter (BTM) teams, along with engineering Technical Program Management (TPM) teams, to synchronize delivery solutions and timelines with customer expectations.

• Work across various customer engineering domains (compute, GPU, storage, and networking) to ensure the delivery solution aligns with end-customer goals.

• Act as the customer's representative within the organization, providing ongoing feedback to the business on evolving customer needs and aiding Fleet leadership in adjusting the product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is highly preferred (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering).

• Over 10 years of experience in a technical role, demonstrating a successful history of influencing technical direction and developing solutions.

• Proficiency in AI data center design and development is essential.

• Strong knowledge of permitting, data center design, operations, power delivery for AI data centers, and both liquid and air-cooling systems.

• Familiarity with AI workloads and network architecture to effectively forecast needs and advocate from the customer's viewpoint.
