Director – Corporate Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer strategic direction and thought leadership to senior executives through comprehensive enterprise-wide strategic plans and objectives.

• Direct cross-functional strategy initiatives aligned with enterprise growth priorities.

• Provide strategic assistance for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) processes as well as external partnership opportunities.

• Present strategic recommendations to Humana’s senior leadership and Board of Directors.

• Manage project delivery from problem identification through analysis, recommendations, and execution.

• Lead teams of 3–5 associates in conducting industry analysis, financial modeling, market and competitive research, benchmarking, competitive intelligence, and qualitative analysis.

• Act as a strategic partner to various business units and functional organizations, including CenterWell, Insurance, Technology/IT, and Finance.

• Create business cases, outline strategic initiatives, establish priorities and timelines, and foster stakeholder alignment.

• Collaborate with Corporate Development on M&A and external partnership strategies.

• Oversee external relationships with business partners and stakeholders.

• Mentor team members and enhance operational processes, tools, and methodologies for the Corporate Strategy function.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or a similar strategic role.

• Proven experience with large-scale business or operational transformations.

• Background in the healthcare industry.

• Understanding of healthcare business models, market dynamics, competitive trends, and/or growth opportunities.

• Experience in developing enterprise or business-unit strategies, including competitive analysis, strategic roadmaps, growth strategies, and investment prioritization.

• Capacity to structure and resolve complex, ambiguous business challenges using both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

• Experience leading intricate, consulting-style strategy projects from problem definition and analysis through to recommendations and execution.

• Proven track record in advising and influencing senior executives, including delivering strategic recommendations to senior leadership, executive teams, and/or Boards.

• Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams, managing multiple priorities, and driving cross-functional initiatives.

• Strong preference for candidates based near New York City, Washington, DC, Louisville, Nashville, or Chicago; candidates willing to relocate are also encouraged to apply.

• Ability to work from a designated area without interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.

• Self-provided internet service with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.

• Occasional travel to Humana offices may be necessary.
