• Take ownership and oversee a substantial contract pipeline, managing approximately 40–100 concurrent contracts throughout North America.
• Ensure real-time insight into the health of the pipeline, the status of deals, any bottlenecks, and readiness for execution.
• Facilitate a smooth transition from verbal award to drafting, negotiation, approval, and execution.
• Spearhead the drafting and negotiation of contracts, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, and renewals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define pricing structures, delivery schedules, performance responsibilities, and risk distribution.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal, compliance, and regulatory risks.
• Develop governance frameworks for contract approvals, risk escalation, and deviations from established standards.
• Lead the modernization of the contracts function through the use of AI and automation technologies.
• Act as a reliable partner to key stakeholders across the organization.
• Ensure compliance of contracts with federal, state, and local laws, as well as regulatory requirements and internal policies and controls.
• Guide and cultivate a high-performing contracts organization.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in contracts management, legal operations, or commercial negotiations.
• Demonstrated ownership of large, complex, multi-year contracts.
• Direct experience with utilities, public agencies, and state or federal government contracts.
• Proven success in leading contract pipelines at an enterprise level.
• Strong leadership background with experience in managing and developing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience with AI-driven contracting tools, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms, or contract automation initiatives is strongly preferred.
• Background in energy efficiency, clean energy, infrastructure, or other regulated sectors is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with federally funded or incentive-based programs is strongly preferred.
• Experience in matrixed, multi-regional organizations is strongly preferred.
