Director, Clinical Vendor Strategy – Previous Clinical Research Experience Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Oversee Ergomed’s strategy for clinical outsourcing and vendor governance throughout the clinical development portfolio.

• Develop vendor outsourcing strategies for proposals and RFPs, ensuring alignment with study needs, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and sponsor expectations.

• Assess, choose, and endorse vendors based on their capabilities, capacity, global presence, and operational preparedness.

• Collaborate with Vendor Management to enhance supplier relationships, increase cost transparency, and assist in strategic sourcing decisions.

• Present outsourcing strategies during bid defenses and sponsor meetings.

• Establish and nurture supplier partnerships that foster collaboration, innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

• Spearhead initiatives to refine and scale outsourcing processes, enhancing efficiency, quality, predictability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Act as a subject matter expert across Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, and other departments.

• Offer insights on vendor performance, risks, capacity, and readiness for portfolio planning and decision-making.

• Create tools, training materials, and best practices for outsourcing and vendor governance.

• Assist in maintaining inspection readiness and quality initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred advanced degree (at least a Bachelor’s: Master’s or equivalent).

• Progressive experience in Clinical Operations, Clinical Trial Management, Vendor Oversight, or Outsourcing Management within a CRO, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical setting.

• Proven track record in managing and executing clinical trials across various phases and therapeutic areas.

• Demonstrated experience in formulating and executing vendor outsourcing strategies.

• Experience in supporting proposal development, RFP responses, and business development efforts.

• Strong knowledge of global clinical development processes and outsourced service models.

• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, process enhancements, and organizational change programs.

• Previous clinical research experience is essential.

• Ensure that outsourced activities adhere to ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and organizational policies.
