This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement the strategy and roadmap for clinical applications that support advanced primary care, value-based care, and organizational goals.
• Create governance frameworks for clinical technology investments, enhancements, integrations, and lifecycle management decisions.
• Oversee the portfolio of clinical applications, which includes EHR, care management, population health, telehealth, clinical workflow, decision-support, and patient engagement platforms.
• Direct the selection, implementation, configuration, optimization, upgrades, migrations, consolidations, and transformation initiatives for applications.
• Track application performance, adoption, utilization, and support trends.
• Collaborate with technology and data teams on interoperability, APIs, HL7, FHIR, clinical data quality, and efficient information exchange.
• Work alongside clinical and operational leaders to pinpoint workflow challenges and devise technology-enabled solutions.
• Facilitate governance forums and promote cross-functional decision-making.
• Spearhead change management, stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and adoption strategies.
• Manage relationships with strategic clinical technology vendors, including procurement, contracts, renewals, performance evaluation, and roadmap development.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, CMS requirements, interoperability regulations, privacy standards, and organizational policies.
• Establish application controls, access governance, change management practices, business continuity procedures, and readiness for audits.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to clinical operations, technology, and vendors.
• Build, nurture, and lead a high-performing clinical applications team.
• Set performance expectations, operating standards, professional development plans, and resource allocation strategies.
• Define KPIs and report on system reliability, adoption, user satisfaction, workflow efficiency, support performance, risks, priorities, and progress on the roadmap.
• Assess and communicate the impact of clinical technology on care quality, patient safety, provider and patient experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, informatics, business, information systems, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, clinical informatics, healthcare technology, or workflow optimization.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Proven track record in leading enterprise clinical transformation or EHR optimization initiatives on a large scale.
• Successful history of driving cross-functional operational and technology initiatives within complex healthcare environments.
• Strong understanding of ambulatory and/or population health clinical workflows.
• Experience in change management, clinician stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to translate technology capabilities into tangible clinical and operational outcomes.
• Working knowledge of EHR platforms and clinical workflow configuration, especially athena.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled clinical tools, telehealth platforms, and digital health technologies and their integration into clinical workflows.
• Understanding of population health platforms and care management tools.
• Ability to communicate workflow and technology concepts effectively across clinical, operational, and technical audiences.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• Certification or demonstrated proficiency in EHR workflow optimization is preferred.
• Experience with implementing ambient AI documentation tools or AI-enabled clinical decision support is preferred.
• Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies is preferred.
• Experience in a multi-entity or integrated healthcare delivery system is preferred.
• Executive presence and the capability to convey clinical technology strategy to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to foster adoption and behavior change across large, distributed clinical populations.
