📋 Description

• Establish the Firm's Data Foundation

• Design and develop a contemporary data warehouse or data lakehouse architecture from scratch.

• Assess and choose the most suitable technologies, platforms, and tools based on the organization's requirements rather than vendor preferences.

• Create scalable data pipelines that integrate essential business systems such as Salesforce/Litify, telephony platforms, financial applications, HR systems, and third-party SaaS solutions.

• Implement automated and repeatable ETL/ELT processes that enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

• Spearhead Data Strategy and Governance

• Develop and execute a robust data governance framework, including KPI definitions, metric standards, data dictionaries, and ownership models.

• Set standards and processes for data quality that identify, measure, and rectify data integrity issues throughout the organization.

• Foster consistency and trust in reporting by establishing a single source of truth for business metrics and operational reporting.

• Create practices that guarantee compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory standards.

• Transform Reporting into Actionable Intelligence

• Design and present executive dashboards and operational reporting that facilitate decision-making rather than just showcasing information.

• Collaborate with business leaders to convert strategic inquiries into significant metrics, analytics, and reporting solutions.

• Develop proactive analytics capabilities that uncover trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers before stakeholders request them.

• Shift the organization from reactive reporting to predictive and insight-driven decision-making.

• Lead and Cultivate High-Performing Teams

• Direct a unified Business Intelligence and Data Engineering organization.

• Recruit, mentor, and nurture technical talent while promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Set team objectives, roadmaps, and measurable quarterly outcomes aligned with business priorities.

• Mitigate operational risk by creating scalable processes and removing single points of failure.

• Collaborate Across the Business

• Work alongside executive leadership, department heads, and technology stakeholders to synchronize data strategy with firm goals.

• Partner closely with the VP of IT/CIO and peer technology leaders to align data architecture with broader technology initiatives.

• Act as a trusted advisor who can simplify complex technical concepts into straightforward, business-oriented recommendations and insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.

• 10–15 years of advancing experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related fields.

• 7+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams and directing large-scale data projects.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and constructing a data warehouse or data lakehouse—not merely managing an existing setup.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one data engineering programming language (Python preferred).

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.

• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and enterprise reporting.

• Outstanding ability to convey complex technical ideas to executive and non-technical audiences.
