This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and oversee a strong pipeline of new business opportunities within investor-owned and public power utilities, grid operators, independent power producers (IPPs), and battery storage operators and developers, focusing primarily on utilities in the near term.
• Collaborate with the robust GTMOps, Product, and Sales Engineering teams to manage the complete sales cycle, encompassing prospecting, discovery, demonstration, negotiation, and closure, while documenting progress in Salesforce.
• Position Climavision’s radar network and forecasting products as critical tools for storm response, outage preparedness, crew and resource pre-staging, and grid reliability decision-making.
• For customers in the storage and generation sectors, advocate for our products regarding dispatch optimization, state-of-charge management, curtailment reduction, and renewable output forecasting.
• Navigate complex multi-stakeholder utility procurement environments, including T&D operations, emergency management, grid operations, meteorology teams, and procurement, structuring deals accordingly.
• Possess a keen understanding of how weather variability impacts cost, risk, and reliability in utility and storage operations, effectively translating this knowledge into a compelling narrative for clients.
• Collaborate with Sales Enablement and Product teams to customize demonstrations and proposals to meet the needs of utility and battery storage buyers.
• Act as the voice of the customer by relaying utility operational requirements and competitive insights back to Product teams to influence the development roadmap.
• Contribute to defining and scaling Climavision’s go-to-market strategy as the business expands.
• Represent Climavision at industry conferences and events, enhancing brand visibility and strengthening relationships throughout the sector.
• A minimum of 8 years of business development or sales experience in the utilities, IPP, or broader energy sector; direct sales experience with utilities is essential.
• Extensive industry knowledge and credibility, underpinned by a strong professional network cultivated over a successful career in the field.
• Proven understanding of how weather affects utility operations, including storm response, outage management, load and renewable forecasting, as well as battery dispatch economics.
• A solid track record of selling SaaS/DaaS or data and analytics solutions within energy and utility markets.
• Exceptional negotiation and deal-structuring abilities; capable of navigating complex multi-stakeholder utility procurement processes.
• An entrepreneurial spirit, eager to contribute to the growth of a dynamic segment of the business.
• Strong executive presence; able to confidently and credibly present to VP- and C-level stakeholders.
• Disciplined in maintaining CRM hygiene (Salesforce) and accurate pipeline forecasting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Energy Management, or a related field is preferred.
• An MBA or other relevant graduate degree is advantageous.
