This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development of quarterly business growth plans for M&A by evaluating key acquisition prospects.
• Actively identify and nurture medium to large acquisition opportunities across various Areas.
• Build and sustain relationships with owners, brokers, advisors, and industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Area Business Development Leads to pinpoint, assess, and promote opportunities.
• Ensure visibility throughout the entire deal portfolio and proactively eliminate execution obstacles.
• Aid in maintaining a robust acquisition pipeline while enhancing the flow of opportunities entering the funnel.
• Assist in the assessment, prioritization, and strategic planning of early-stage opportunities.
• Enable coordination and knowledge exchange across Areas within the Tier.
• Evaluate geographic opportunities utilizing market, SWOT, and competitor analysis.
• Provide support to members of the Area Business Development team.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Over 10 years of pertinent experience and/or training; or a comparable mix of education and experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
• Must be a resident of the Eastern half of the United States.
• Background in the waste or energy-related industry is required.
• More than 10 years of experience in M&A or Corporate Development.
• Proficiency in working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
• Capability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, pro formas, and legal documents.
• Familiarity with WM offerings.
• Expertise in presenting information to WM’s Area and Corporate leadership teams, Sellers, and their advisors.
• Competence in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Must possess, or be prepared to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative for air travel or access to federal properties.
