This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Achieve or surpass sales targets for the designated region.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through direct sales, referrals, trade shows, conferences, meetings, etc.
• Regularly engage with current and past customers to ensure satisfaction and uncover new and expanding opportunities through positive client interactions.
• Create new business strategies for both existing clients and potential new ones.
• Quickly address new business development leads and collaborate with internal support teams.
• Evaluate, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
• Recognize decision-makers and identify areas where services are needed.
• Negotiate and finalize agreements.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, meetings, and other activities (call reports) in a CRM system.
• Build and sustain an updated pipeline of new business prospects.
• Aid in the preparation of proposals, quotes, and client contracts.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of all services provided for potential cross-selling opportunities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of proven success in sales or business development with a track record of sustainable growth.
• Strong understanding of the CRO, Biotech, and Pharma industries, particularly in preclinical toxicology, both GLP and non-GLP studies.
• Familiarity with drug development biology, including toxicology, metabolism, and pharmacokinetics.
• Capability to evaluate leads, assess the value of new business, create recommendations through effective written and oral presentations, collaborate with scientific and marketing teams, and close deals.
• Exceptional organizational and planning abilities.
• Self-driven and proactive with a mindset to set ambitious goals and achieve them.
• Proficient communication skills in English, including presentation, analytical, sales interviewing, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
