This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• BME Strategies is in search of a seasoned and energetic Director of Business Development to spearhead and implement the firm's growth strategy for government contracts in Public Health.
• Act as a strategic and technical consultant.
• Oversee organizational stewardship; manage high-level and/or strategic accounts, and provide leadership in practice/service areas.
• Assist leadership and management with proposal and pitch strategies.
• Collaborate with firm and practice leadership to develop and execute the company’s business development strategy, particularly aimed at securing government contracts.
• Lead initiatives to identify, capture, and secure government contracts that align with the firm’s growth priorities, which include RFP responses, proposal development, and teaming arrangements.
• Supervise the creation and submission of high-quality, compliant proposals for government contracts.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with government officials, agency representatives, and key decision-makers.
• Build, mentor, and manage a team of business development professionals, providing them with guidance, training, and support to meet their business development objectives.
• Achieve targeted sales and revenue growth within the government contracting sector.
• At least 15 years of experience in business development, sales, or management within a government contracting setting, preferably in a consulting firm.
• A minimum of 6 years of direct people management experience, including at least 6 years in leadership of practice/service areas.
• Master’s degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of client-facing experience, with 7 or more years in project leadership roles.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively, managing multiple projects and deadlines in a high-paced consulting environment.
• Proven track record of success in securing and managing government contracts (at state and/or local levels), including experience with RFPs, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Strong understanding of government procurement processes and the relevant guidelines, compliance, and regulations for government contracting.
• Subject matter expertise in Public Health agencies, topics, and trends; experience with local and regional public health is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in CRM tools and government procurement platforms.
