This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Drive the development and execution of strategies aimed at fast-tracking Texas's transition to clean energy within the electric and transportation sectors.

• Accomplish both short-term and long-term objectives related to legislative, administrative, and regulatory policies.

• Establish and nurture relationships with key legislative and administrative decision-makers in Texas.

• Formulate and implement Advanced Energy United’s strategy in Texas.

• Collaborate with regulatory and policy teams to broaden market opportunities for the advanced energy sector.

• Inform decision-makers and candidates about advanced energy technologies.

• Facilitate active participation of member companies in policy advocacy.

• Collaborate with member companies to formulate policy positions and achieve consensus.

• Oversee relationships with lobbyists and consultants, as well as legislative and communication engagements.

• Organize lobby days, educate legislators and candidates, and manage earned media and participation in legislative, regulatory, and administrative processes.

• Maintain connections with coalition partners, allies, and legislative and administrative staff.

• Coordinate advocacy initiatives with coalition allies.

• Produce reports, presentations, fact sheets, and other educational and advocacy materials.

• Draft comments and testimony, and deliver verbal presentations.

• Identify opportunities for earned media in collaboration with the communications team, including press statements, media interviews, blog posts, webinars, and showcases.

• Travel as necessary, up to 30%, for advocacy days, stakeholder meetings, communications outreach, and related activities.

• Report directly to the Central Region Managing Director.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, economics, engineering, or arts and sciences is preferred, or equivalent experience.

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous.

• Genuine interest in energy and transportation issues, along with a solid understanding of policy advocacy.

• An entrepreneurial mindset and a flexible approach.

• Capability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in independently drafting clear, comprehensive, and persuasive written documents.

• Possess intellectual curiosity, an inquisitive nature, strong listening skills, and problem-solving capabilities.

• A robust work ethic, demonstrated initiative, and a commitment to achieving objectives.

• Ability to effectively engage members, customers, and funders while articulating Advanced Energy United’s value proposition.

• A sense of humor and a willingness to continue learning.

• Must be open to travel.

• Must reside in or near Austin, Texas.
