This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee the strategic sourcing and procurement of aluminum to guarantee a reliable and cost-effective supply that aligns with production and business requirements.
• Formulate and implement aluminum sourcing strategies by taking into account market conditions, supply continuity, and commercial goals.
• Keep track of aluminum market dynamics, pricing trends, and pertinent commodity indices to facilitate informed purchasing and risk management decisions.
• Cultivate supplier relationships, encompassing supplier selection, performance evaluation, issue resolution, and contract adherence.
• Negotiate and manage aluminum supply agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders to secure favorable commercial results.
• Identify and alleviate supply risks through proactive planning, supplier diversification, and escalation of potential disruptions.
• Supervise aluminum inventory levels and engage with planning, operations, and finance teams to maintain a balance between availability and working capital.
• Serve as the company’s trusted, customer-facing expert on aluminum and associated market dynamics, addressing customer challenges and inquiries.
• Facilitate strategic discussions with customers regarding pricing adjustments, annual locks, and navigating volatile market conditions.
• Create and distribute monthly market update newsletters.
• Collaborate closely with Sales to enhance pricing dialogues, boost customer comprehension and acceptance, and sustain trust during challenging market conditions.
• Ensure that customers view us as disciplined, transparent, and knowledgeable, rather than reactive.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including operational enhancements and new projects, by offering aluminum sourcing expertise and cost insights.
• Analyze sourcing and supplier performance data, providing insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in sales, strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management.
• Proven track record in managing supplier negotiations, contract frameworks, and sourcing decisions.
• Demonstrated experience within aluminum markets, cost structures, and customer-facing commercial or business development roles.
• Established ability to articulate complex market information clearly and build trust with customers and internal teams.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration.
• Background in sales, strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management.
• Familiarity with aluminum, packaging, or commodity-driven cost structures.
• Exposure to foodservice, processor, or distributor-based business models.
• Proven history of supporting profitable growth initiatives.
