This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Construct and cultivate a premier sales team by sourcing, training, and mentoring top-tier sales professionals, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and development.

• Oversee employee performance by establishing clear expectations and coaching individuals on skill gaps and abilities necessary for success.

• Execute annual performance evaluations and quarterly progress reviews with sales team members to evaluate advancement towards individual development goals, both professional and personal, while providing constructive feedback and guidance for continuous growth and achievement.

• Conduct weekly or bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with team members to offer support, guidance on forecasting, sales plan development and management, pipeline management, dealer activation, and overall coaching.

• Facilitate regular coaching sessions aimed at enhancing pitch delivery. Conduct monthly ride-alongs to visit accounts and clients, providing real-time feedback and guidance to improve sales performance and ensure alignment with company goals.

• Achieve or surpass your team's sales objectives for Sound’s nutrient efficiency business, which currently includes two products under the SOURCE brand and one licensed product from an external partner, with plans for further product launches and partnerships.

• Provide direct support to sales team members by assisting in deal strategies and tactics, and actively engaging in closing deals.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key dealers to promote products and services that align with our mission and sales strategy.

• Ensure dealer and customer retention, growth, and increased adoption of SOURCE on the farm.

• Collaborate with Marketing to create content and launch digital and field campaigns to raise awareness of SOURCE in leading corn and soybean growing regions in the US.

• Work together with Technical Agronomy and Product Management to relay feedback from the field, pilot new products, and refine our portfolio's positioning to ensure alignment with guidance on maximizing customer ROI in the field.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in sales management, encompassing multiple cycles of recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring high-performing sales professionals. Proven success in team building, including goal setting, assessing sales capabilities, developing others, and sales coaching experience. Ability to manage both high performers and those requiring development is crucial.

• Proven track record of meeting sales and revenue targets in the crop inputs sector. Ideally possessing an established network and significant experience within agriculture reseller networks, particularly with seed and crop protection sellers, agronomic consultants, and ag retail across the sales territories for which they would be responsible.

• In-depth knowledge of sales methodologies, tools, and techniques. A willingness to co-sell with team members and lead by example.

• Experience in introducing and selling product lines in new markets, while collaborating with supporting functions for improved sales effectiveness.

• Background or training in a specialized, technical, or professional field such as Agronomy, Plant Science, Marketing, Agri-business, Business Administration, or a related area.

• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, Product, Agronomy, and Operations, to establish and achieve objectives that are of significant strategic importance to the company and to enhance sales effectiveness and optimize efficiency through digital tools and data-driven decisions.

• Strong proficiency in Google Workspace, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, or comparable tools.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with adaptability to change and uncertainty in the agricultural sector.
