This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct the strategic vision, foster innovation, and generate critical insights that enhance company performance.
• Supervise pricing, forecasting, month-end closing operations, performance tracking, explanations, processes, assumptions, accruals, and financial experience analysis.
• Initiate activities aimed at boosting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement strategies and assist teams in creating statistical models for bid pricing, financial forecasts, contract modeling, and ad hoc assignments.
• Recognize and influence actuarial concepts and business drivers at senior management levels.
• Facilitate interactions with federal and state regulators.
• Lead new business initiatives for the business development team as required.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state rate filing requirements.
• Drive cross-functional actuarial opportunities that align with corporate objectives.
• Supervise actuaries, ensure adherence to Actuarial Standards of Practice, and support training and development efforts.
• Monitor industry trends, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance while clarifying business implications.
• Establish tactical plans and objectives for the functional area and make impactful decisions.
• Clarify financial drivers for owned products and markets, including Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) and other accruals.
• Assist in the design, development, and rollout of AI-driven actuarial solutions.
• Assess emerging AI capabilities and guide their responsible application for pricing, forecasting, financial analysis, regulatory support, and other actuarial functions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of eight years in decision support, financial analysis, or actuarial roles is preferred.
• Three years of management experience is preferred.
• Strong database skills with SAS or Access are preferred.
• Experience in Managed Care or the healthcare sector is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong listening and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
• Capability to manage, develop, and inspire staff.
• Ability to engage with all levels of management and external stakeholders.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in reporting data, analyzing facts, and exercising sound business judgment.
• Capacity to identify and evaluate issues, draw conclusions, develop and lead processes, and communicate results effectively.
• Ability to lead audits of data and models.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, or other data manipulation tools is preferred.
• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) is required.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) is preferred.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment and remain seated or standing for extended periods.
• Occasional travel of up to 15% may be necessary.
