Direct Entry Special Operations Captain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as the sole pilot in command of the DEA’s DA42/62 aircraft fleet.

• Provide exceptional operational standards across a combination of weekdays and weekends, including both day and night flying as scheduled throughout the year.

• Uphold a high level of professional flying standards and a dedication to safe operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a valid UK CAA CPL/ATPL or EASA CPL/ATPL.

• Must hold, or have held within the last three years, a multi-engine instrument rating for single pilot, MEIR(SP).

• A total of 480 hours of flying time is required.

• At least 250 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC), excluding PICUS or simulator hours. Co-pilot hours may count towards this requirement at a rate of 0.5; for example, 400 hours as co-pilot would contribute 200 hours towards the PIC requirement.

• A minimum of 50 hours of IFR flying time, which should not be mistaken for instrument flying time, as those are logged separately.

• A current Class 1 medical certificate is mandatory.

• ICAO LEVEL 5 proficiency or higher in the English Language is required.

• Must be eligible to live and work in the UK and/or the EU.

• Willingness to work away from home for extended durations (up to 3-5 weeks at a time) is essential.

• Applicants must not have received an invitation to an assessment with DEA in the last 6 months.

• Ability to obtain a Basic Disclosure certificate through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or equivalent in your country, regarding any “unspent” criminal convictions.

• Must hold, or have previously held, a security clearance that grants access to information classified as EU Confidential or NATO Secret.

• Should not have maintained a permanent address in more than one country in the last 5 years.

• Dual UK/EU passport holder is required.

• Dual UK CAA/EASA CPL/ATPL holder is necessary.

• Previous experience with DA42/62 or King Air is preferred.

• Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus.
