This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and develop responsive industrial web applications utilizing Ignition Perspective along with supporting web technologies.
• Enhance Ignition's standard components using JavaScript, CSS, and Python scripting to address intricate business and operational needs.
• Construct modular and maintainable application architectures that facilitate long-term scalability and reusability.
• Integrate applications with industrial and enterprise systems, including SQL databases, SAP, SharePoint, Active Directory, OPC, and historian data sources (such as Kepware, Canary, etc.), as well as REST APIs.
• Design efficient data models and queries that are optimized for real-time operational use.
• Collaborate directly with operations, engineers, IT, business stakeholders, and business analysts to convert manufacturing workflows into digital solutions.
• Create interfaces and workflows that are tailored for industrial users working in high-tempo production settings.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of development team standards and tools to boost team performance.
• Implement comprehensive error handling, logging, and diagnostics.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to performance, security, reliability, and compliance standards.
• Produce clear technical documentation and solution architecture diagrams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience with Ignition, including custom development and integration services.
• Understanding of concepts such as MES, SCADA, HMI, OPC, historians, or IIoT.
• Strong background in web UI development concepts, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and modern UI patterns.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for application logic and automation tasks.
• Solid experience with SQL databases and relational data models.
• Experience in integrating external systems via REST APIs or web services.
• Capability to design maintainable, modular software rather than just single-purpose screens.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial automation, or operational systems.
• Ability to comprehend production workflows, machine data, and real-time operational constraints.
• Willingness to travel to client sites up to two times per month.
