This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Provide support and maintain digital forensic laboratory systems and infrastructure that directly aid ongoing federal investigations and enforcement actions.
β’ Lead and implement technical initiatives aimed at modernizing digital forensic capabilities while ensuring forensic integrity, evidentiary soundness, and adherence to chain-of-custody protocols.
β’ Plan, oversee, and execute assigned technical projects of moderate to advanced complexity, ensuring compliance with federal timelines, budgets, and operational priorities.
β’ Conduct system validation, functional testing, and readiness evaluations for new or updated forensic tools, platforms, and environments before they are deployed in production.
β’ Create, sustain, and enforce system, operational, and forensic documentation necessary for audits, accreditation, discovery, and legal processes.
β’ Offer hands-on technical support for information systems that facilitate forensic examinations, evidence storage, analysis, and reporting.
β’ Ensure forensic systems adhere to relevant federal policies, standards, and controls regarding data integrity, access control, auditing, and security.
β’ Actively monitor and evaluate system performance, reliability, and security; identify potential risks and implement corrective measures to guarantee uninterrupted investigative operations.
β’ Introduce automation and process enhancements that boost examiner efficiency while maintaining evidentiary defensibility.
β’ Collaborate with forensic examiners, investigators, cybersecurity personnel, and program leadership to support critical investigative operations.
β’ Proven expertise in Digital Forensics, encompassing forensic tools, laboratory systems, and workflows supporting computer, mobile, and media examinations.
β’ Experience in aiding forensic laboratory environments utilized in active law enforcement or regulatory investigations.
β’ Advanced understanding of enterprise networking, including secure network segmentation and monitoring, with hands-on experience in Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
β’ Extensive experience with virtualized environments, including: On-premises platforms (VMware, Nutanix), Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions (Citrix, VMware Horizon).
β’ Experience in supporting hybrid and isolated environments designed for sensitive or classified investigative data.
β’ Capability to support systems operating under federal cybersecurity and information assurance requirements (e.g., logging, access controls, incident response).
