DevOps Engineer, Level 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead owner and subject matter authority for the Redwood RunMyJobs (RMJ) Scheduler

• Oversee and sustain job schedules, workflows, and inter-system dependencies

• Administer, patch, configure, monitor, and enhance the Redwood RunMyJobs platform

• Supervise job execution, alerts, system performance, reliability, and adherence to SLAs

• Diagnose job failures, performance challenges, and system errors

• Manage platform settings, user roles, and security configurations

• Design, construct, and improve automated workflows and job chains

• Develop, implement, and oversee batch schedules that align with business and technical needs

• Specify execution times, job priorities, and scheduling logic

• Document troubleshooting procedures, scheduling policies, lessons learned, workflows, processes, and configurations

• Analyze and enhance batch job performance for optimal resource utilization

• Facilitate the integration of RMJ with enterprise applications and data sources

• Collaborate with internal applications, infrastructure, and data teams to assist integrations

• Configure and manage platform agents and connectivity across different environments

• Support file transfers, API-based integrations, and event-driven processes

• Assist with environment setup, upgrades, and maintenance tasks

• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to convert requirements into automation solutions

• Engage in requirements discussions, working sessions, and testing activities

• Work alongside operations and project teams to ensure reliable batch processing integration with enterprise systems

• Suggest best practices for workload automation and platform utilization

• Contribute to process enhancements and initiatives aimed at operational efficiency

• Produce work products that are considered works made for hire and the property of the Railroad Commission of Texas

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience

• Proven experience administering, patching, configuring, and optimizing the Redwood RunMyJobs (RMJ) Scheduler

• Experience in managing job schedules, workflows, dependencies, batch schedules, and job chains

• Skilled in troubleshooting job failures, performance issues, alerts, and system errors

• Familiarity with platform configurations, user roles, security settings, security patches, and system updates

• Experience supporting integrations with enterprise applications and data sources

• Competence in configuring and managing platform agents and connectivity across environments

• Proficient in file transfers, API-based integrations, and event-driven processes

• Involvement in requirements discussions, testing activities, and environment setup, upgrades, and maintenance

• Visa eligibility: USC, GC, H1-B, H4-EAD, or L2-EAD
