DevOps Engineer – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure that supports AI workloads.

• Oversee AI platform environments across development, testing, UAT, and production stages.

• Apply Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform and Bicep.

• Enhance infrastructure performance, cost-efficiency, resilience, and availability.

• Construct and uphold CI/CD pipelines for AI and machine learning initiatives.

• Automate the processes for model deployment, validation, testing, and rollback.

• Assist with model lifecycle management, including versioning, monitoring, and governance.

• Enable automated workflows for retraining and deployment as necessary.

• Implement security best practices within AI environments.

• Manage identities, secrets, certificates, and access controls effectively.

• Ensure adherence to security and governance standards established by the organization.

• Conduct activities for vulnerability remediation and platform hardening.

• Establish frameworks for monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability.

• Diagnose production incidents and carry out root-cause analysis.

• Define and track platform SLAs, SLOs, and operational metrics.

• Promote continuous enhancement of platform stability and performance.

• Collaborate with AI Engineers and Solution Architects to operationalize AI solutions.

• Aid in production releases and conduct deployment readiness reviews.

• Contribute to the development of platform standards, reusable templates, and automation frameworks.

• Mentor development teams on best practices in DevOps and AI operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related field.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable technical discipline.

• A Master's degree will be an added advantage.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure.

• Extensive experience with Azure DevOps.

• Strong proficiency with Bitbucket.

• Significant experience with Terraform and/or Bicep.

• Proficient in Docker.

• Strong expertise in Kubernetes (preferably AKS).

• Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, or Prometheus.

• Strong scripting abilities in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

• Experience with one or more of Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, MLOps, model deployment and monitoring, vector databases, retrieval systems, LLM application deployment and operations, or AI governance and operational monitoring.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management.

• Experience with Azure Key Vault for managing secrets.

• Familiarity with security scanning and vulnerability management.

• Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments.
