Developer Productivity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Assist QVAC application teams in developing, reviewing, testing, and delivering dependable software with minimal friction.

• Concentrate on desktop and mobile applications along with their shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages.

• Create and sustain developer tools.

• Incorporate AI agents into engineering processes.

• Enhance code quality and automate delivery processes.

• Assess, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, including repository guidance and necessary integrations.

• Construct and manage agents in CI and scheduled workflows to investigate failures, suggest fixes, and provide actionable evidence.

• Refine automated pull request reviews by evaluating finding accuracy and minimizing reviewer noise.

• Develop code quality scripts and checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions.

• Collaborate with package owners on practical thresholds and targeted refactoring.

• Enhance development environments, testing, and workflows for building and releasing.

• Prioritize improvements alongside engineering teams, support adoption through documentation and onboarding, and measure effectiveness, reliability, and operational costs.

• Formulate workflows that investigate CI failures, diagnose compatibility and performance regressions, and identify changes impacting package interfaces or architecture.

• Take ownership of improvements from implementation through to adoption and ongoing support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation utilized by others.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools or agents, including integration.

• Sound judgment regarding AI tool limitations, output validation, and the need for human review.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures.

• Strong commitment to code quality, encompassing maintainable code, effective automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring.

• Capability to work independently while collaborating with engineers.

• Effective communication skills in English.

• Ability to function within a remote, globally distributed team.
