Developer Productivity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Assist QVAC application teams in developing, reviewing, testing, and delivering dependable software with minimal friction.

• Create and sustain developer tools for desktop and mobile applications, a shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages.

• Assess, integrate, and manage developer tools and AI agents, including repository guidance and necessary integrations.

• Develop and operate agents within CI and scheduled workflows to analyze failures, suggest fixes, and provide actionable evidence.

• Enhance automated pull request reviews by assessing finding accuracy and minimizing reviewer distractions.

• Establish code quality checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions.

• Collaborate with package owners on practical thresholds and targeted code refactoring.

• Optimize development environments, testing, build, and release workflows.

• Prioritize enhancements with engineering teams, support adoption through documentation and onboarding, and evaluate effectiveness, reliability, and operational costs.

• Diagnose CI failures, compatibility and performance regressions, and alterations affecting package interfaces or architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation utilized by others.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Practical experience with using and integrating AI coding tools or agents.

• Good judgment regarding the limitations of AI tools, output validation, and the necessity for human review.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures.

• Strong commitment to code quality, maintainable code, useful automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate effectively with engineers.

• Proficient English communication skills within a remote, globally distributed team.
