Developer Productivity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Assist QVAC application teams in developing, reviewing, testing, and delivering dependable software with minimal friction.

• Concentrate on desktop and mobile applications along with their shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages.

• Create and maintain developer tools.

• Integrate AI agents into engineering processes.

• Enhance code quality and automate delivery.

• Assess, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, including repository guidance and necessary integrations.

• Construct and manage agents in CI and scheduled workflows to analyze failures, suggest fixes, and provide actionable insights.

• Enhance automated pull request reviews by assessing finding accuracy and decreasing reviewer noise.

• Create code quality scripts and checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions.

• Collaborate with package owners on practical thresholds and focused refactoring.

• Optimize development environments, testing, and build and release workflows.

• Prioritize enhancements with engineering teams, facilitate adoption through documentation and onboarding, and evaluate effectiveness, reliability, and operational costs.

• Select and refine workflows in collaboration with the engineers who utilize them.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation utilized by others.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools or agents, including integration.

• Strong discernment regarding AI tool limitations, output validation, and human oversight.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing practices.

• Methodical debugging skills for build, test, or integration failures.

• Strong commitment to code quality, including maintainable code, effective automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively with engineers.

• Effective communication skills in English within a remote, globally distributed team.
