This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Develops, enhances, and maintains Oracle database objects and application logic, which includes SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and other related database components.
• Collaborates closely with application developers to deliver database logic, stored procedures, data access patterns, and backend functionalities utilized by application services and user-facing systems.
• Works in partnership with data modelers and database administrators to comprehend data structures, relationships, constraints, and the implications of database design on application functionality.
• Reviews, optimizes, and fine-tunes SQL and PL/SQL code to enhance application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Ensures data integrity through the implementation of validation logic, transaction management, error handling, and consistent database development practices.
• Provides application support for Oracle-based functionalities, which includes issue investigation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and the implementation of effective resolutions.
• Assists in release activities, code migrations, and post-deployment validation for changes made to the Oracle database as necessary.
• Engages in code reviews, testing, documentation, and deployment readiness activities to guarantee that Oracle development work is comprehensible and supportable by the wider team.
• Collaborates with business stakeholders and technical team members to elucidate requirements, analyze issues, clarify system behavior, and foster continuous improvement of customer application and integration solutions.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing and supporting Oracle SQL and PL/SQL solutions.
• Proficient in developing stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, complex queries, and database-backed business logic.
• Experienced in troubleshooting Oracle-based application issues in production or business-critical environments.
• Skilled in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, query optimization, execution plan analysis, and performance troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts, data relationships, constraints, indexes, transaction handling, and application data models.
• Ability to collaborate with data modelers and database administrators to comprehend and support the impacts of data models without directly managing data modeling responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for work item tracking, development collaboration, or release support.
• Proficient in using Git for source control, branching, merging, and version management.
• Experience with Oracle SQL Developer for Oracle development, troubleshooting, query execution, and database object review.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong analytical and root-cause troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented application development environment.
