Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create unique and impactful cover designs along with polished final jackets.

• Oversee all phases of book jacket design, from initial concept through to the finished bound book.

• Work closely with editorial teams, creative directors, marketing, publicity, and production departments on book projects.

• Partner with freelancers, illustrators, photographers, and agents to enhance design outcomes.

• Locate, engage, and manage relationships with artists.

• Facilitate material for approval, maintain timelines, prepare files for production, and oversee the proofing process.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 - 3 years of experience in book jacket design.

• A degree in graphic design.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

• In-depth knowledge of color theory and design principles.

• An impressive portfolio showcasing book cover work and strong typographic skills.

• Experience in collaborating with designers and photographers.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
