Design Zonal Routing Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance the electrical architecture of next-generation vehicles, concentrating on zonal routing, harness placement, and ECU integration.

• Ensure that electrical systems are space-efficient, free from interference, and meet vehicle-level specifications.

• Develop strategies for zonal routing of electrical harnesses, ECUs, and power distribution modules.

• Conduct package studies to prevent interference with chassis, battery, and thermal systems.

• Generate detailed schematics and 3D models of electrical routes utilizing CATIA Electrical.

• Collaborate with teams focused on autonomy, thermal management, and vehicle body to ensure electrical designs are consistent with overall vehicle architecture.

• Document interfaces, assumptions, and risks associated with electrical system integration.

• Assist in prototyping and validating electrical routing solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in electrical routing, harness design, or zonal architecture (preferably in the automotive/EV sector).

• Proficiency in CATIA Electrical/3DEXPERIENCE (essential for 3D routing and harness design).

• Familiarity with harness design tools such as Capital Harness and VeSys.

• Knowledge of EMC/EMI compliance.

• Strong attention to detail and capability to manage complex electrical interfaces.

• Fluent in English for effective technical communication with global teams.

• Willingness to relocate to the USA (visa support provided).

• Ability to coordinate among multiple teams, manage small projects, and mentor junior engineers.

• Preferred: experience with high-voltage systems (48V/800V) in EVs.

• Preferred: understanding of electrical architectures in autonomous vehicles.

• Preferred: familiarity with DFMEA.
