Design Engineer – Level 5

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Oversee all projects of varying complexity levels

• Ensure designs comply with structural code standards, manufacturing requirements, and client expectations

• Exhibit expertise in all methodologies related to metal building system design

• Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Engineering Manager

• Collaborate directly with clients to create optimized building solutions

• Design and supervise projects that involve high-complexity metal building systems

• Provide professional oversight and take responsibility for projects requiring a signature and seal

• Adhere to project timelines while managing changing priorities and modifications

• Utilize sound engineering judgment to ensure public safety

• Actively mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers

• Identify opportunities for design enhancements and cost savings through innovative engineering approaches

⛳️ Requirements

• Design Engineer IV, with preference for Licensed Professional Engineer status in multiple states

• Demonstrated capability to design medium to high complexity metal buildings

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline)

• At least 10 years of pertinent experience in metal building design or structural engineering

• Proficient in structural design and modeling software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, AutoCAD, or similar)

• Design Engineer V, with Licensed Professional Engineer status in multiple states, capable of providing sealed design documents as required

• Proven ability to design metal buildings of medium to high complexity

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in metal building design or structural engineering

• Strong proficiency in structural design and modeling software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, Tekla, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
