Design Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develops truss components and repairs for MiTek clients while creatively addressing engineering challenges faced by our customers.

• Innovatively designs field repairs for truss components, adhering to accepted engineering principles and judgment.

• Creates truss components based on specified requirements from clients, utilizing engineering knowledge and building codes, and collaborating with other engineers in the office to ensure designs prioritize public health, safety, and welfare.

• Engages in discussions regarding design modifications and evaluates appropriate design methodologies with clients.

• Provides assistance, training, and guidance to customers in resolving issues and design challenges.

• Assesses the results of truss design software for precision and works alongside other engineers and the software development team to define software functionalities.

• Collaborates with engineers, architects, and building officials on customer component design initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.

• Up to 1 year of relevant experience is necessary.

• Proficiency in technical skills including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, basic calculus, physics, statistics, and strength of materials, as well as structural analysis.

• An equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the capability to perform the essential functions of the role may be accepted on a year-for-year basis.

• Competence in reading and interpreting prints and schematics.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Applications.

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from any State Board is preferred.
