Design Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Expand our design system — Develop and enhance component libraries, interaction patterns, and design tokens that integrate seamlessly across web and mobile platforms.

• Deliver stunning, functional experiences — Create and implement user-facing features from initial concept to final production, transforming complex agricultural finance workflows into intuitive interfaces for ranchers and farmers.

• Advocate for product excellence — Set quality standards and processes that guarantee every feature we release addresses real problems with elegance.

• Enhance our frontend architecture — Participate in the improvement of design system infrastructure, development workflows, and tools as we scale.

• Collaborate across disciplines — Partner with design on visual standards, product on feature specifications, and engineering on technical architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in creating high-quality web and mobile applications.

• Ownership of design systems: You have either built or have extensive experience working with component libraries, understanding both the technical and human challenges involved.

• Strong design intuition: You can identify inconsistencies in a UI and produce high-fidelity prototypes using Figma.

• Advanced frontend expertise: You write clean, efficient code and possess a solid understanding of data structures, asynchronous programming, and modern development practices.

• Mission-oriented: You are passionate about addressing real challenges for those who cultivate the land and assisting family-run businesses in becoming more profitable and resilient.

• Comfortable with uncertainty: You excel at balancing user needs, business requirements, and technical limitations to devise elegant solutions.

• Naturally collaborative: Positioned at the intersection of design and engineering, you work effectively across various disciplines to achieve results.

• Bonus: Experience in fast-paced startups, developing financial products, or proficiency with React, TypeScript, React Native, and Next.js.
