Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement innovative user experiences at the convergence of AI video, world models, and cutting-edge generative media.

• Design and create interactive tools and interfaces that empower researchers and creatives to engage with and manage AI systems in real time.

• Investigate new application domains for AI video and general world models, ranging from simulation and interactive media to research tools.

• Push the boundaries of front-end engineering to expand the possibilities within research and experimental settings.

• Build internal tools and frameworks utilized across design and engineering teams at Runway Labs.

• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product designers to influence our vision for the future of AI-enhanced creativity.

⛳️ Requirements

• A genuine interest in AI video, world models, agentic engineering, and generative media, along with an instinct for designing meaningful interactions with these technologies.

• Proven experience in designing workflows, prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces for web and agentic products.

• Background in creating agentic tools or interfaces, such as systems where AI performs actions, reasons about states, or manages multi-step workflows.

• Strong grasp of visual and interaction design principles, coupled with experience in usability testing.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, research-focused environments where the problem space is still evolving.
