This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.
• Join our team as a Design Engineer and contribute to shaping the appearance, functionality, and user experience of rready as we expand our AI-native B2B SaaS platform.
• You will operate at the convergence of design and frontend engineering, taking ownership of user-facing experiences from initial concept through to refined, production-ready interfaces.
• Your role goes beyond merely handing off designs; you will design using code, develop actual UI components, and deploy them into production, ensuring users interact with interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and enjoyable.
• Create and implement user-facing interfaces in their entirety, from conception to production.
• Write and deploy production frontend code, rather than just developing prototypes or experiments.
• Establish scalable UI foundations through reusable components, design systems, and ongoing enhancements.
• User- and experience-focused: You have a strong passion for delivering an exceptional user experience, understanding that clarity, usability, accessibility, and performance are as crucial as visual aesthetics.
• End-to-end ownership mentality: You take accountability for what is delivered, from initial concepts and interaction design to production-ready frontend code. You do not simply pass designs off; you build, enhance, and deploy them.
• Design + frontend hybrid: You are adept at both designing interfaces and implementing them in code. Regardless of whether your strength lies more in design or engineering, you enjoy working within the intersection of the two.
• Frontend-capable (not design-only): You are comfortable writing and deploying production frontend code, reviewing pull requests, troubleshooting UI issues, and progressively enhancing existing components and interfaces.
• Methodical & detail-oriented: You focus on the details that contribute to a polished product: spacing, states, edge cases, responsiveness, accessibility, and consistency throughout the system.
• Proactive & responsible: You advance topics independently, recognize UX or UI issues early on, and ensure matters are resolved thoroughly.
• Iteration-first mindset: You appreciate the process of experimenting, refining, and enhancing designs and implementations over time, valuing progress and learning over the pursuit of perfection.
• Composed in uncertainty: When requirements are unclear or challenges are not fully defined, you help bring about clarity through sketches, prototypes, and incremental implementation.
• Tool-savvy & craftsmanship-oriented: You are comfortable using design and frontend tools (e.g., Figma, component libraries, frontend frameworks) and prioritize clean, maintainable UI code.
• Strong communicator: You articulate ideas clearly with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers, facilitating alignment of intent, constraints, and outcomes through transparent collaboration.
• Proficient in English (German is a plus).
• A high-impact position in an AI-native B2B SaaS startup where your contributions significantly enhance how users perceive rready, from clarity and usability to visual appeal and interaction quality.
• Genuine ownership of user-facing experiences: from initial concepts and interaction design to production-ready frontend implementation, with the authority to continually elevate the quality of our UI and UX.
• A role at the nexus of Design and Frontend Engineering: you’ll design interfaces and deliver production frontend code, perfect for those who appreciate end-to-end responsibility from concept to final experience.
• The chance to establish scalable UI foundations: design systems, reusable components, patterns, documentation, and tools that minimize friction and enhance quality across product teams.
• A truly international team, featuring colleagues from Switzerland, Germany, Namibia, Greece, Brazil, the Netherlands, and beyond.
• Enterprise exposure through close collaboration with our product and customer-facing teams supporting major accounts such as BMW, Tetra Pak, Swisscom, Implenia, or LGT, all while addressing real-world usability, accessibility, and consistency requirements at scale.
• A flexible work environment that provides the autonomy and trust necessary for focused, high-quality work and thoughtful iteration on genuine user challenges.
• Memorable team experiences, from ski trips to our annual offsite abroad.
