This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design sprinkler systems by collaborating with client representatives and various service contractors until the final scheme is established.
• Oversee the design schedule in relation to the construction timeline and specification requirements.
• Generate completion documents and certifications.
• Gather information from site, architects, consultants, builders, and other trades to produce fully designed working drawings.
• Independently attend site meetings when design issues are on the agenda.
• Create comprehensive working drawings in compliance with relevant design codes.
• Determine pipe sizes using hydraulic calculations.
• Compile material lists from design drawings for procurement, variation estimating, and schedules of rates.
• Send drawings and material quantities to suppliers and subcontractors for procurement purposes.
• Place material orders and oversee equipment levels.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Project Manager or Design Manager.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Extensive experience in a design engineering position within the sprinkler industry (essential).
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of LPC BS EN 12845 regulations (essential).
• LPCB Intermediate qualification and LPCB Full Hydraulic Calculation qualification (highly desirable).
• Proficient in using AutoCAD (essential).
• Experience with Revit 3D (highly desirable).
• Skilled in using full hydraulic calculation software, preferably Canute (desirable).
• Familiarity with Factory Mutual Standards (essential).
• Understanding of NFPA standards (highly desirable).
• HND or degree in a construction/engineering design-related field (highly desirable).
• Proven experience in managing, developing, mentoring, and leading a team.
• Professional communication skills with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative.
• Capability to work successfully with minimal supervision.
• Valid driving license.
• Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and occasionally spend nights away from home.
• May be required to undergo a DBS check.
