This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.
• Collaborate closely with the Asia Network Director to ensure that political and communication strategies and campaigns in Asia are effectively translated into actionable workplans, timelines, and responsibilities, and are successfully executed across the region.
• Provide daily leadership and coordination for a diverse Asia team, which includes regional functional roles and cross-country projects.
• Assist in prioritizing and organizing work across multiple country desks and thematic campaigns, ensuring that limited resources are directed towards the most impactful opportunities.
• Foster a supportive and accountable team environment by establishing clear expectations, facilitating problem-solving, and proactively encouraging the professional development and growth of team members.
• Enhance internal operations by implementing regular planning, tracking, and review processes.
• Aid in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing coaching of key members of the Asia team.
• Contribute to establishing, maintaining, and leveraging relationships with a diverse array of partners across Asia, supporting efforts by country desks operating at both national and regional levels.
• Support capacity-building initiatives focused on strategic communications planning and execution for partners and allies within the broader climate community, in coordination with the Asia Network Director and the global network.
• Participate in internal and external monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of Asia-wide initiatives, including synthesizing inputs from various countries and workstreams for global leadership.
• Act as a reliable deputy to the Asia Network Director, occasionally representing the Asia team in internal and external meetings as necessary.
• Undertake any additional duties as assigned from time to time.
• A genuine interest and commitment to the organization's mission and values.
• Proven professional background in strategic communications, digital innovation, political campaigning, and/or journalism, with a strong understanding of how digital innovation and communications can influence public and political discourse.
• A comprehensive understanding of the political and media landscape in Asia, and how regional dynamics interact with national contexts.
• Several years of experience in managing diverse teams and/or complex projects within an international or regional setting, ideally across multiple Asian countries.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities, including the ability to provide clear direction, hold others accountable, and deliver constructive feedback.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, encompassing priority setting, timeline management, and coordination among multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in utilizing digital communication strategies and tools, and collaborating effectively with digital, operations, and other functional roles.
• Strong diplomatic skills and interpersonal abilities, with the talent to build trust with colleagues and partners across different cultural contexts.
• The maturity to work closely with senior colleagues, high-profile partners, and funders, and to professionally represent the organization when required.
• Excellent time and priority management skills, a high level of self-motivation and independence, a proactive attitude, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Fluency in English and at least one Asian regional language.
