Deputy Director of Programs, Organizer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the Program Organizer program from start to finish, which includes scheduling, management, and the overall experience of part-time staff.

• Develop infrastructure to support the team, while hiring and training both full-time managers and part-time Program Organizers.

• Define the structure of team pods and establish systems, expectations, and support frameworks.

• Formulate a scheduling strategy and ensure accountability for coverage during events and inbox shifts.

• Organize the content and agendas for check-in calls and supervise their execution.

• Manage program-wide communications through updates on Slack, announcements, and daily team routines.

• Utilize Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, and scheduling software to effectively coordinate and manage work.

• Enhance team well-being by coaching managers, recognizing support needs, celebrating achievements, and fostering feedback, recognition, and growth mechanisms.

• Assume additional responsibilities as the program evolves and demands change.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing staff, with a strong preference for candidates who have overseen part-time or hourly teams.

• Experience in managing other managers and participating in the hiring process.

• A solid track record in developing people systems, including onboarding, training, scheduling, and management frameworks.

• Ability to support team members with diverse work backgrounds and varying levels of experience.

• Excellent and approachable communication skills.

• Comfort in fast-paced, scaling environments where priorities may shift.

• Strong organizational skills and logistical acumen.

• Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Deputy, When I Work, or similar hourly scheduling software, or the ability to learn them rapidly.

• Access to a computer and a reliable internet connection.
