Delegating Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Establish Prescriptive Authority Agreements with Total Life nurse practitioners and ensure their registration with the Texas Medical Board.

• Conduct a documented quality assurance meeting with each NP at least once a month via video or phone.

• Review a mutually agreed sample of each NP's patient charts.

• Be accessible via phone or video for clinical consultations during NP practice hours and arrange alternative physician coverage when unavailable.

• Collaborate with each NP to agree on the practice plan, which includes consultation, referral, and emergency protocols.

• Provide support to NPs in caring for patients through telehealth and at partner senior living communities.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO with a valid, unrestricted Texas medical license.

• Board certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or geriatrics.

• No history of disciplinary actions.

• Ability to delegate responsibilities to additional NPs within Texas regulations.

• Comfortable providing support for telehealth practices aimed at an older adult population.

• Current malpractice insurance that covers delegation or supervision.

• Experience in delegating to NPs within a telehealth context (preferred).

• Experience in geriatrics, senior living, or long-term care (preferred).
