Defender Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deploy and optimize Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions to monitor and respond to threats in real-time.

• Set up and configure Next-Generation Antivirus (NGAV) to deliver behavioral-based protection.

• Conduct continuous vulnerability assessments and provide recommendations for remediation in Threat & Vulnerability Management.

• Implement and maintain rules and controls to minimize the attack surface of endpoints in Attack Surface Reduction.

• Ensure integration of real-time updates and threat intelligence from the Microsoft cloud.

• Seamlessly connect Microsoft Defender with Microsoft Sentinel and other SIEM solutions.

• Guarantee comprehensive security across Windows, Linux, and mobile devices.

• Create detailed reports on security posture, incidents, and compliance through Comprehensive Reporting and Analytics.

• Design, implement, and manage Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) policies to regulate which applications can run on endpoints.

• Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies utilizing Microsoft Defender, Intune, and Purview.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Cloud, and Servers.

• Background in endpoint security, threat hunting, and incident response.

• Familiarity with SIEM solutions, particularly Microsoft Sentinel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex security tooling challenges.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

• Understanding of industry compliance standards (e.g., NIST) and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is a plus.

• Commitment to keeping abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging security tools.

• Required DoD 8140 compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+.

• Possession of Secret Clearance.
