Database Specialist, IDMS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide support for the z/OS operating system and its associated utilities.

• Evaluate application performance within z/OS and database settings.

• Program using Enterprise COBOL version 4.0 or later.

• Operate within the IBM ecosystem and mainframe environments.

• Design and set up CICS configurations.

• Create and manage both online and batch applications (balanced line).

• Engage with relational databases, such as DB2 and CA-IDMS.

• Handle VSAM files.

• Utilize and analyze DUMPs.

• Conduct database and business modeling using CA-GEn.

• Implement service-oriented architecture (SOA).

• Apply DevOps tools and methodologies.

• Contribute to maintaining code quality.

• Participate in large-scale projects within complex enterprise settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in supporting the z/OS operating system and its utilities.

• Skilled in analyzing application and database performance in z/OS environments.

• Experienced in programming with Enterprise COBOL version 4.0 or higher.

• Ability to develop CICS transactions, including proficiency in multithreading.

• Knowledge in relational database modeling and business modeling using CA-GEn 8+.

• Experience in developing database routines utilizing DB2 Native Stored Procedures.

• Practical knowledge of CICS control and access interface tools, CICS/WEB, Broker, and MQ Series.

• Demonstrated professional experience as a Mainframe/z/OS Platform Analyst.

• Hands-on experience with mainframe technologies, including JCL, TSO, Endevor, DB2 and/or CA-IDMS, CICS, and VSAM files.
