This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide support to KITS and our governmental client.
• Play a vital role in the design, construction, and maintenance of data systems that meet business requirements.
• Concentrate on data modeling, constructing and optimizing data engineering pipelines, implementing CI/CD practices, and developing serverless functions across AWS and Azure environments.
• Skilled at managing both data engineering and infrastructure needs to facilitate seamless data processing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Development, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or comparable technical roles.
• Proven proficiency in database systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• More than 6 years of expertise in the Python programming language.
• ETL/ELT Processes — Development of data pipelines utilizing a combination of stored procedures, views, and Python scripts. Familiarity with tools such as dbt (for SQL transformations) or basic orchestration tools (e.g., fundamentals of Airflow) is advantageous.
• Data Quality & Testing — Establishing checks, validation, and monitoring for data pipelines.
• Version Control & Collaboration — Utilizing Git for code management (Python + SQL scripts), along with experience in basic CI/CD practices.
• Performance & Scalability — Optimizing for large data volumes, comprehending the effects of indexing/partitioning, and fundamental cloud database concepts.
• Soft Skills — Problem-solving capabilities for debugging complex queries and pipelines, thorough documentation of models and processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Strong experience in designing relational database schemas.
• Expertise in Entity-Relationship (ER) modeling, dimensional modeling, and understanding the trade-offs between normalization and denormalization.
• Practical experience with at least one major RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server for T-SQL/stored procedures, PostgreSQL, or preferably MySQL).
• Solid proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data manipulation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities in cross-functional and distributed teams.
