Database Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance relational schemas, encompassing tables, indexes, constraints, and relationships.

• Design and improve SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and other database-driven logic.

• Evaluate execution plans and pinpoint enhancements for performance and efficiency.

• Engage directly with OLAP cube-based data models, including the design and modification of dimensions, hierarchies, and measures.

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot queries related to OLAP.

• Assist feature teams in developing and maintaining the database.

• Identify and resolve issues related to locking, contention, inefficient joins, and indexing deficiencies.

• Suggest and implement improvements in indexing, partitioning, or overall structure.

• Take part in load testing and capacity planning discussions concerning the data layer.

• Contribute to design and peer review sessions.

• Guide team members on SQL best practices, schema design, and performance methodologies.

• Collaborate within a small agile team to deliver top-notch features and consistently enhance engineering practices.

• Document data structures, conventions, and patterns for broader engineering utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience in database engineering, SQL development, or backend engineering with significant data responsibilities.

• In-depth expertise in MS-SQL:

• o Complex joins

• o Execution plan analysis

• o Query optimization

• o Indexing strategy

• Experience in building ETL/ELT components.

• Strong grasp of relational data modeling and schema design principles.

• Proven experience in enhancing database performance through structural and query-level optimizations.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
