Database Administrator – SQL, Epic Electronic Health Records

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Oversees the performance, security, and upkeep of databases at Saint Francis Health System (SFHS).

• Guarantees data integrity, performs system backups, enhances performance, and provides user support while ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.

• Develops and implements database architectures tailored to organizational needs.

• Conducts systems analysis to identify and address database requirements in line with business operations.

• Works collaboratively with stakeholders to collect and evaluate business requirements for database solutions.

• Reviews and modifies existing system logic challenges for moderately complex workflows and systems.

• Monitors and improves database performance, including query tuning and database configuration adjustments.

• Establishes and oversees security protocols to safeguard sensitive information, including access controls and encryption methods.

• Creates and maintains backup protocols and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.

• Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and reliability within the database.

• Updates and maintains SQL code to fix errors and improve functionality.

• Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards, assisting with audits as necessary.

• Collaborates with business process experts to understand database challenges, offering recommendations for improvements and solutions.

• Plans for future database capacity and storage requirements by evaluating current utilization and predicting growth.

• Diagnoses and resolves database-related issues to minimize downtime and prevent data loss.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator – SQL is preferred.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in database administration.

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
