This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Assist in discovery and source evaluation, schema development, data mapping, migration programming, transition and cutover planning, production execution, and ongoing maintenance.
• Inventory, catalog, and assess XML data sources, encompassing schemas, DTDs, and XSDs.
• Generate Discovery and Assessment Reports outlining source structures, update frequencies, constraints, and data anomalies.
• Strategize and implement repeatable XML-to-relational database migration methodologies.
• Design normalized relational schemas and correlate XML hierarchies to tables, keys, and indexes.
• Establish parent-child connections and junction tables for many-to-many relationships.
• Provide Entity-Relationship Diagrams and Data Dictionaries.
• Create and sustain ETL routines utilizing database-native SQL, XPath/XQuery, or XML parsers.
• Maintain audit logs for both migrated and unmigrated records while tracking repeated migrations and updates.
• Perform unit tests for data validation and reconciliation.
• Produce migration scripts and pipeline source code with audit logging and automated verification checks.
• Plan and carry out production migrations using documented runbooks and rollback procedures.
• Develop migration plans with detailed step-by-step instructions and time estimates for completion.
• Conduct verification and reconciliation checks to ensure migration completeness and accuracy.
• Offer maintenance and migration interval plans for daily, on-demand, or record-update migrations.
• Define processes for ongoing updates to scripts and data schemas.
• Collaborate with analysts, designers, developers, testers, engineers, DBAs, scrum masters, business owners, and management.
• Support the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts Product Development Office suite of intricate business systems.
• Over 7 years of experience in server database maintenance and administration or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Mandatory IBM Database Certification.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for query development, data modeling, schema optimization, and initial data analysis.
• Practical experience in installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting relational databases, including backup and recovery processes.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, database security protocols, access controls, task automation, and SSL certificate installation.
• Experience in leading technical projects, managing deliverables, and providing technical support or training.
• Proficient in complex XML schemas and hierarchical data structures, including XPath and XQuery.
• Experience in designing and implementing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) workflows with error handling, logging, data validation, transformations, and performance enhancement.
• Knowledge of SQL Server XML data types and functionalities, including storing, querying, parsing, transforming, and validating XML using XPath and XQuery.
• Significant hands-on experience with Entity Framework (EF), Entity Framework Core (EF Core), and LINQ-to-SQL translation.
• Experience in communication and collaboration with developers, testers, systems engineers, DBAs, scrum masters, business owners, and management.
• Familiarity with Agile principles and methodologies as well as the SAFe Framework.
• No security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship is not necessary.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week as scheduled.
• Travel required is less than 10%.
