This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee, optimize, modernize, and sustain Oracle and SQL Server databases across hybrid on-premises and cloud settings.
• Manage Oracle 19c/12c, PL/SQL, and SQL Server databases, including schemas, configurations, and security measures.
• Conduct performance optimization, troubleshoot issues, and support high-availability workloads.
• Develop and verify backup and recovery plans utilizing Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, SQL Server backup/restore, and HA/DR setups.
• Assist with database refactoring, patching, upgrades, and migrations from on-premises Oracle/SQL Server environments and managed SQL Server virtual machines.
• Collaborate with ETL, reporting, and data quality teams to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data flows.
• Monitor, log, automate, and secure database operations in accordance with DoD cybersecurity protocols.
• Provide support for batch processes, integrations, and application components interacting with multi-platform database systems.
• Contribute to modernization efforts involving schema optimization, stored procedure refactoring, query enhancement, and data movement.
• Support the Defense Logistics Agency within the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Application DBA in a large enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with DoD 8140 cybersecurity compliance and best practices in secure database administration.
• Strong practical experience with Oracle 19c/12c, including SQL/PL SQL development, performance tuning, troubleshooting, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, AWR reporting, and OEM/cloud monitoring.
• Practical experience with SQL Server administration, covering T-SQL development, indexing and query tuning, job management, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.
• Knowledge of infrastructure components that support Oracle and SQL Server workloads, such as VMs, networking, storage, and identity management.
• Experience in supporting modernization efforts, schema optimization, stored procedures, query enhancement, and data movement across Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• Familiarity with automation and DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, encryption, and access control.
