Database Administrator – IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Manage and oversee databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and data integrity.

• Execute data backup and recovery procedures.

• Analyze and enhance queries, indexes, and processes to boost database efficiency.

• Regulate and supervise access to contribute to information security.

• Develop and sustain reports along with data integration and transformation (ETL) processes.

• Design and maintain database structures, including tables, indexes, views, and queries.

• Detect and rectify data inconsistencies, failures, and redundancies.

• Track performance metrics, recognize incidents, and apply improvements.

• Ensure databases are current, secure, and meet system and user requirements.

• Assist with data extraction and availability requests based on the needs of the requesting departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed or ongoing higher education in Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Development, or related disciplines.

• Proven experience in administering, maintaining, and monitoring databases.

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

• Proficient in SQL, including the creation and maintenance of tables, indexes, views, and queries.

• Understanding of data backup and recovery, access control, and performance enhancement.

• Experience with ETL processes, Report Services, cloud databases (AWS), and high-availability solutions is an advantage.
