Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for analytics and reporting purposes.

• Construct data processing workflows utilizing Python, SQL, and PySpark within Databricks and Delta Lake environments.

• Establish scalable data lakehouse architectures tailored for healthcare datasets and enterprise analytics.

• Collaborate with Data Architects, Automation Test Engineers, QA Analysts, and Business Analysts to define transformation logic and data integration standards.

• Develop reusable frameworks for data ingestion, validation of data quality, and handling exceptions.

• Enhance data processing jobs to ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness within AWS and Databricks.

• Engage in schema design, data modeling, and version-controlled pipeline development processes.

• Contribute to data governance, manage metadata, and document data lineage for audit, compliance, and FISMA reporting purposes.

• Work alongside DevOps teams to incorporate pipelines into CI/CD workflows.

• Conduct root cause analysis and address data issues across staging, integration, and production environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (4 Year Degree) required.

• Proven experience in developing data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines.

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.

• Familiarity with Databricks and Delta Lake lakehouse architectures.

• Knowledge of AWS cloud platforms is essential.

• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data quality validation, exception handling, schema design, and data modeling.

• Experience with GitHub, Databricks Repos, CI/CD workflows, data governance, metadata management, and data lineage practices.

• Capability to support audit, compliance, and FISMA reporting requirements.
