This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Deliver first-level support for developers and production operations during maintenance periods.
• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle RDBMS software and associated products.
• Apply patches to Oracle RDBMS/Exadata systems.
• Ensure database security in accordance with ISP documentation and best practices.
• Conduct database tuning and monitor performance.
• Assist in application tuning and performance monitoring efforts.
• Update and maintain documentation and standards.
• Provide 24/7 support during after-hours and maintenance windows.
• Research and terminate sessions when necessary.
• Extend tablespaces as required.
• Purge XA transactions.
• Offer general technical troubleshooting and consultation to development teams.
• Investigate Oracle database issues and coordinate with Oracle Corporation for support.
• Perform C Shell/Perl/SQL scripting, including debugging and maintaining existing scripts as well as creating new ones.
• Manage partition maintenance tasks.
• Monitor Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for potential production issues.
• Execute other tasks or duties as assigned.
• Solid understanding of the Oracle database, including its utilities and tools.
• Familiarity with Oracle Forms, Pro*C, and Data Modeler & Subversion is preferred.
• Knowledge of Exadata, DataGuard, RAC, and GoldenGate is desirable.
• Understanding of database compression, encryption, and materialized views is a plus.
• Proficient in scripting languages (PL/SQL, Perl, C Shell).
• Strong understanding of the underlying operating system, primarily UNIX/LINUX.
• Good knowledge of physical database design, including partitioning.
• Capability to perform performance tuning and monitoring for both Oracle and the operating system.
• Familiarity with Oracle backup and recovery procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle security management.
• Understanding of how Oracle acquires and manages resources effectively.
• Knowledge of Oracle data integrity principles.
• Familiarity with the application systems used at your site.
• Strong communication skills to interact with management, development teams, vendors, and systems administrators.
