This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Deliver senior technical guidance for the development and operation of federal IT systems.
• Emphasize database architecture, performance, and data management strategies.
• Offer strategic insight for the modernization and improvement of federal systems through robust data management, database optimization, and secure data handling practices.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the customer.
• Support and collaborate with development Scrums, Cloud Engineering, and DevSecOps Platform teams.
• Optimize databases and oversee database logs.
• Install software, maintain releases, and apply relevant patches.
• Provide after-hours incident support when necessary.
• Manage databases and configurations on database servers, Cloud One, and other hosting environments.
• Facilitate firewall access for mainframe/server connectivity.
• Coordinate release timelines with the PMO and partner organizations.
• Address and resolve system anomalies as they arise.
• Create database strategies, monitor systems, enhance performance and capacity, and develop plans for future needs.
• Supervise production systems and secure database environments, including addressing and resolving database STIGs.
• Prepare software release packages for upgrades to newer COTS versions.
• Adjust database structures in accordance with approved software modifications.
• Manage backups, confirm the accuracy and completeness of restored data, and assist with data restoration processes.
• Set up databases for CV&I, QT&E, performance, user-acceptance, and regression testing.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management, or a closely related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).
• Over 3 years of database management experience in an AWS Cloud environment (RDS).
• Security+ CE or CCNA Security certification is mandatory.
• Must possess an Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Proficient in XMLS, AWS-related technologies, and associated utilities.
• Preferred: experience with Agile development teams of 20 or more FTEs, along with familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Preferred: over 5 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle RMAN.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of experience with Oracle Failsafe.
