Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Executing daily Oracle DB operations, overseeing user management, granting access, and troubleshooting issues.

• Assisting and maintaining Oracle RAC environments hosted on ExaCC, adeptly managing both multitenant and non-multitenant databases within shared clusters.

• Handling OEM alerts, addressing incidents, and conducting routine database health assessments and optimizations.

• Carrying out database refreshes utilizing extensive knowledge of Oracle Data Pump and its parameters, alongside expertise in RMAN.

• Performing regular health checks, executing tasks, and resolving issues within the MS SQL Server environment equipped with Always On and Mirroring.

• Automating regular operational tasks and developing clear, detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Have over 5 years of experience in database operations.

• Exhibit a solid foundational knowledge in Oracle Database administration (RAC, OEM, RMAN, Data Pump, DG) and strong problem-solving skills.

• Manage SQL Server maintenance plans, including index updates, backups, restores, recovery models, TDE, CDC, and event-triggered alerts.

• Offer 24/5 rotational support with on-call duties and demonstrate a commitment to documenting procedures and developing standard operating protocols.

• Possess a good understanding of ITIL frameworks, including incident, problem, and change management processes.

• Utilize familiarity or practical experience with GG microservices, ExaCC, MySQL, or PostgreSQL to effectively enhance project outcomes.
