This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Customer Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor for customers, assisting them with their data engineering and architecture requirements, specifically focusing on Databricks solutions. In this role, your time will be divided evenly between billable work and pre-sales activities.
• Technical Leadership: Create, develop, and implement comprehensive data solutions that capture, transform, and utilize data to support artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business intelligence efforts.
• Pre-Sales Support: Work alongside sales teams to showcase technical solutions to potential clients, highlighting the value of SunnyData's offerings.
• Project Oversight: Oversee multiple customer accounts, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and tracking progress to report outcomes effectively.
• Solution Design: Design data solutions that incorporate best practices in data governance, security, and quality.
• Data Analysis: Assess data sources for their value, recommending strategies for data inclusion to improve analytical processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership: Guide internal teams, offering direction and mentorship to project teams to deliver solutions and educate end users on data products and analytic environments.
• Problem Resolution: Conduct system analysis, evaluate, and resolve data and system defects, applying necessary corrections.
• Quality Assurance: Test data movement, transformation code, and data components to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
• Experience: 7+ years in a hands-on Solutions Architect and/or Senior Data Engineer role, focusing on designing and implementing data solutions with an emphasis on DataBricks.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), the Databricks platform, and data science/machine learning technologies (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
• Architecture and Leadership Skills: Thorough understanding of the complete data analytics workflow (e.g., data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration) using contemporary data engineering techniques; capability to lead complex architecture requirements (discovery), solution design sessions, and develop implementation architecture blueprints for data-engineering and analytics teams.
• Programming Skills: Strong knowledge of Java, Python, and/or Scala.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• SQL Expertise: Ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries.
• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a background in client-facing roles.
• Presentation Skills: Capability to create and present detailed presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Documentation: Proficient in creating comprehensive solution documentation, including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.
• Team Leadership: Experienced in leading teams and mentoring fellow engineers.
• End-to-End Solutions: Competent in developing complete technical solutions into production, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.
