Data Services Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, create, modify, and maintain system-level APIs, web services, backend services, and data integration components.

• Establish secure service connections between the new user interface and data, business logic, validation, and transactional capabilities.

• Develop and utilize REST APIs and web services that facilitate reliable, scalable, and high-performance application and data interactions.

• Assess existing data feeds and interfaces for limitations regarding data visibility, timeliness, accuracy, and transaction capability.

• Create or enhance interfaces with trading partners and DoD data sources using web-service APIs, database links, AFSC Data Services (ADS), SFTP, and IBM MQ.

• Formulate data mappings, transformations, validation logic, and processing services that aggregate information from various maintenance and enterprise systems.

• Collaborate with developers, UI developers, data engineers, enterprise architects, cybersecurity personnel, and Government stakeholders to define interface requirements and integration strategies.

• Assist with Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system change requests, interface specifications, and technical documentation.

• Ensure that integrations comply with authentication, authorization, role-based access, security, deployment, and software development standards.

• Create and execute unit and integration tests; support regression testing, performance validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), demonstrations, and release activities.

• Utilize Git and contemporary source-control workflows.

• Engage in Agile development, code reviews, backlog refinement, and iterative releases.

• Contribute to building the service layer that links modernized user workflows to authoritative enterprise data, enhancing data availability, transaction capability, and system interoperability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; this necessitates US Citizenship.

• Successfully pass a drug test and background screening.

• Active Secret Clearance is preferred.

• Experience in integrating with Oracle databases and Java-based enterprise applications.

• Familiarity with API design, service-oriented or microservice architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Knowledge of database links, SFTP, IBM MQ, data warehouses, or other enterprise data exchange technologies.

• Experience with DoD/Air Force logistics, maintenance, ERP, or MRO systems.

• Experience in supporting secure DoD environments, RMF/ATO requirements, CAC authentication, or role-based access controls.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and performance monitoring.

• Strong communication abilities and the capacity to coordinate technical interfaces across various system owners and trading partners.

• Aptitude for quickly learning new data.
