Data Scientist – Market Research

📋 Description

• Conduct research and experimentation with multifamily datasets to uncover opportunities for new product features and insights.

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to establish requirements and design data-driven functionalities for ApartmentIQ Invest Pro.

• Transform acquisitions workflows into scalable tools and features tailored for institutional investors.

• Utilize large language models (LLMs) and other AI methodologies to enhance research, automate workflows, and derive new insights from both structured and unstructured market data.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on multifamily acquisitions, ensuring the product aligns with genuine investor needs.

• Develop clear documentation, dashboards, and analyses to effectively communicate findings and product opportunities.

• Keep up-to-date with multifamily industry trends, data sources, advancements in AI/ML, and investment methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in multifamily commercial real estate, with a solid foundation in underwriting, deal analysis, and pro forma modeling.

• Demonstrated experience using essential market data sources such as CoStar, Yardi Matrix, or RealPage Market Analytics.

• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with proficiency in SQL.

• Experience in applying large language models (LLMs) or AI/ML techniques to expedite research, automate analysis, or extract insights from data.

• Familiar with contemporary data science practices, including model building, experimentation, and validation.

• Proven experience collaborating across teams (investment, product, engineering, data science).

• Strong business acumen with the capability to translate investor workflows into product features.

• Exceptional communication skills, enabling the explanation of complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable operating in a fast-paced, product-development environment.

• Bonus Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
